So, I have put a bunch of photos up on iWeb, but it seems that the program REALLY down res'es the photos. The whole idea was to allow people to view them and download them for printing.

Any way to adjust the resolution that gets uploaded?

if your using the galleries then i think your stuck with 800px wide (or there abouts), you may be able to modify the template, i haven't looked into this myself, so don't know what's posable

The other method is to make a page, drop your image onto to it, make that small image a link, and point it to the high res file.
So here we have a stock gallery - http://www.beigematchbox.co.uk/site/mitp04/Main%20Gallery.html

And here a blog entry with self made thumbnails linking to jpg files - http://www.beigematchbox.co.uk/site/mainsite/Other%20Stuff/204E14B0-0CEA-440C-A628-F264DC634686.html

No doubt there are other ways of getting round this limitation, but thats what i've done :)
