iWeb renames files to "original.jpg"

once in a while iWeb bugs me with one strange behaviour:

I paste jpgs into iWeb and the software will rename them into "original.jpg"

This leads to a whole gallery of pictures being named "original.jpg".

also, I cannot use the captions display, to display the pictures title, as it would place a "original" under every picture in the gallery.

I do not find anything via google not the help files of iWeb.

Does anyone have a clue?
