I have heard that IWeb sites are near impossible to have SEO friendly.
Is this so, & why or why not?
Also can the code be modified to make it SEO friendly?
I have Dreamweaver, but I don't know code as much as I should.

Partly depends on the theme used. One of the issues resides in when iWeb uses JavaScript to add widgets or the navigation to the page. Search engines don't run JavaScript, so in these cases, never sees the navigation, and as a result won't index any other pages on the site. Though, it may find them through direct links on other web sites. There is some software from Rage that helps increase the SEO of a iWeb site. It won't make iWeb SEO awesome, but will help improve things. I don't believe it overcomes the "navigation added with JavaScript" issue though. Here's a article on improving the navigation some.

Like most things, this gets a 'it depends' answer. The usual problem is that generated code is less controllable than had spun code. And usually less efficient. However, it is a question of degrees
