iwork '08 issue

wondered if i could get some advice. just discovered that my iwork '08 installation will not launch.

went to a secondary acct. i have just for such occasions, and discovered that iwork '08 launches just fine in that acct.

restored iwork through time machine and accomplished nothing. previouysly i had deleted the preference files for iwork, and that did not get me anything.

can anyone tell me what the problem is, and how i might get it back to working on my main acct.?
