I upgraded my 2010 iMac to Lion and iWork 09 (from a disc) works great on it. I just bought a MBA and I would like to put iWork on it. Do I need to purchase the new iWork from the App Store or is there some way to put iWork 09 on it?

Note: I tried moving iWork from iMac to MBA with a USB and it said check to see if this version of iWork is compatible with OSX Lion. (it is working on my iMac with Lion) maybe because I installed it on the iMac before upgrading to Lion.

Use Disk Utility (Utilities) to create a disk image of your iWork disc (File > New > Disk image from...).

Copy resulting disk image file it across to your MacBook Air.

If you need more info, please say. That should work fine though.

Can you go into more detail? I have the disc and I am in disc utility. Now I want to create a disk image?

*** Nevermind, I got it to work. Many thanks for the tip
