I don't know if anyone noticed this, but I wasn't really interested in iWork or iLife 09 when I saw them both for £69 each in the Apple Store. It turns out that if you are a student, you get a massive 50% off, bringing the total to £34.50.

Good deal, although some might argue that the software should be that price for everyone.

I see no half price. Are you using your Uni computers to access the edu store?

£58 here on the standard edu store. Too much - I will pass. :(

nice price here...$65.60 EPP discount...I wonder what the .edu discount is on campus...either way $65.60 isn't a bad deal for ilife 09'

I bought a Macbook pro last night, can i get a iLife 09 for free?

No, the qualifying date for a free update starts today.

iLife '09, a significant upgrade to Apple's award-winning suite of digital lifestyle applications, features major new versions of iPhoto, iMovie, and GarageBand and includes iWeb and iDVD.

If you buy a qualifying Mac between January 6, 2009, and March 28, 2009, and it does not include iLife '09, you're eligible to receive iLife '09 for the cost of shipping and handling.

"if you buy a qualifying Mac between January 6, 2009, and March 28, 2009, and it does not include iLife '09, you're eligible to receive iLife '09 for just $9.95 plus tax."

maybe they will let you, call apple and see.

The institutional price in the USA is $39. You won't be able to get than except with a HE purchase order (or possibly a PCard) so there's no risk of abuse.

The individual price is $71.

Yeah, my campus bookstore has iWork '09 for $39 rather than the $79 (or $71 edu discount from Apple) from the Apple Store. iLife '08 is the same price so hopefully iLife '09 will be cheap as well.

It seems there are a lot of software deals to be had for Mac software.

My school's technology store now has Office '08 for Mac at $29.99 now.
