Anyone else noticed that all the Apple apps on the App Store (iMovie, Keynote, Pages etc.) are now free? iOS 7 GM on iPhone 5

The iPhone you are using has to be activated after September 1st, 2013 for them to be free.

OP: Did you just purchase this iPhone?

Nope been running iOS 7 GM since it came out last week. iPhone is a release day 5, in the UK if that makes any difference, App Store is intermittent but working most of the time. Screenshot attached for proof

in the US store it is still the same price(not free). There must be some difference in the time zones with regards to when Apple pushes out their updates.

Still showing full price here, release day iphone 5 on GM... In uk... Intermittent availability so perhaps there going to become free soon?

Very peculiar behaviour! I've managed to download the whole iWork Suite (except Pages as already purchased), plus iPhoto and iMovie for free! But GarageBand still shows as £2.99? Very strange!

EDIT: apparently GarageBand was never a 'free' app for new users

Very strange indeed. From what Apple said, these should not be free for us. But i'll keep checking throughout the day in case  (that is, when I can actually get the App Store to work..)

I'll say what everyone is thinking and feeling: I'm only interested in how it happened because I want it free too. :p

Do you have another iDevice to see if the apps are tied to your iTunes account or by device?

Not currently, waiting on the new iPad's, but on iTunes it's showing the apps as purchased as usual. Will be ordering a 5s on friday, so would be getting these apps free anyway, but very strange that it's let me download them for no charge today
