Updates to Pages, Keynote and Numbers are live in the iOS store now. Looks like they main new feature is that they all now sync to Mountain Lion version of those apps now.

Pages 1.6.1 works with iCloud to make documents automatically available between your iOS device and Pages on your Mac*. Changes made to a document on one device are instantly available on the other.

There are so many file limitations of iOS iWork compared to the Mac version, that I wonder how iCloud will handle it.

So to answer my own question, if you try to open a Mac iWork document on iOS, it says (paraphrasing) "This may look different, do you want to work on a copy?" It's probably a bad idea to work on the original, at least with any doc that has anything fancy on it, because then when you open it on the Mac again you may have lost some things.

Notice that share via iwork.com is still an option. Strange given that iwork.com has been dropped in favor of icloud.
