iwork numbers can't hyperlink

When I want to add a hyperlink to a cell in numbers via insert-hyperlink, i cannot click the webpage or email links. Also the inspector hyperlink tab does not allow me to click the enable hyperlink button, or add an URL.

Hyperlinks do work in Pages.
Also hyperlinks do work in imported excell sheets.

Is there a possibility to switch hyperlinking on or off ?
I have not switched on the button make all hyperlinks inactive.

I realise this is an old post, but I came across the same problem. You need to first type some text in the cell and then select it before using the menu items Insert > Hyperlink. This will enable those options. I hope this helps somebody!
