Theoretical question:

Since I have to stay on 5.0.1, and can't update pages/numbers because iTunes nor the app store will let me, will installing the IPA from the folder that iTunes downloads to using Installous work, or is the app just completely incompatible with the older version?

Piracy? No. I bought the apps. I have installous because only the cracked version of PvZ (also bought) works on my phone for some reason.
