The printed manuals that came with iWork are 5.5" x 6.5". The standard size for computer manuals has been roughly 7.5" x 8.5" or 9". [Numbers are in inches.]
My complaint is that making the manual smaller in those dimensions also makes it thicker and therefore takes up more shelf space. Also, it means less information on a page so there is a lot more page flipping.
I am happy that there is printed documentation, however, the form factor is not elegent in any way shape or form. My bookcase is set up for the larger manuals, so these waste space. And since they're smaller they will be easier to get lost in clutter.
Apple gets a thumbs up for still including printed documentation and a thumbs down for changing the form factor.
