iWork programs start but won't open files or start new ones. Any idea's I have deleted and reinstalled from the iWork install DVD .dmg. I don't have the app store version and have a rMBP.

You do need to update the suite to at least 9.0.5 using Software Update. The 9.1 updater added Lion features a year ago & 9.2 came out yesterday adding Mountain Lion features. Make sure the apps are in the iWork '09 folder in the first level of Applications or Software Update won't find them.

iWork does not work fine

I have the same problem. For example I can't to open neither .doc nor .docx files. Numbers and Keynote does not work directly. I don't know what can do? Buy from the App Store? What do you think about that? Thanks.

I would hate to rebuy it and it not work, but would be willing to spend the money if I knew it would fix the problem. I also would hate to spend the money and then a new iwork come out.

Did you buy the app store version? and did it work then?

I uninstalled it with AppCleaner and then reinstalled it again and then applied the 9.2 update before opening any of the apps. Still didn't work.

I installed from the disc, ran software update, everything works fine. Strange that you guys are having issues.

In most cases, app removal software such as AppCleaner doesn't do a thorough job of finding and removing files/folders related to deleted apps. For more information, read this and this. If you just want to delete the app, drag the .app file to the trash. No other software needed. If you want to completely remove all associated files/folders, no removal apps will do the job.

The most effective method for complete app removal is manual deletion:

OMG Thanks so much! It worked!!!!!! I followed your instructions to the letter and everything works now!!

I have the same pb on my new MBA, installed iWork with Remote Disk through my old PC, then upgraded through Mac AppStore... And none of the 3 apps work...

I'm not sure what I should delete and what I should not, really... I need to write a Uni Thesis due Monday... I'd rather do this on Pages than OpenOffice, but I especially need my computer to work :)

Thanks for any help
