iPad iWorks for nothing!!

ok so I bought a shiny new iPhone 5s and got iWorks with it. When I synced my 10 month old iPad 4 with iTunes, it automatically synced and installed iWorks. I am not complaining about a freebie but I thought it was only for new devices

Having a 5s would add iWork's to your previously purchased apps which can be installed on all your iOS devices.
