iWorks Question

I have a question.

I know there are a ton of threads that are iWorks vs office but the only thing i need to know is if someone emails me a doc from office will i be able to open it in iWorks.

If not then i guess the decision is made for me.

Why not give NeoOffice a try? I think it is better than both MS Office and iWork plus it is free! I have tried both iWork 08 and MS Office 2008.
