Does anyone know if there is likely to be an iWorks release this year? or do you think the next version will be iWorks11 (the team may be diverted with the iPad releases...). Just wondering whether I should buy a copy now or hold off for a few months.

It is extremely unlikely, as Apple rebranded iLife '09 and iWork '09 to just iLife and iWork, implying there either won't be a release this year, or there won't be a release for some time.

I believe this is the first time Apple has removed the year from the brand, which is rather smart of them. I've had trouble selling off my copies of Office '07 because people just look at the year and scoff, as if it's broken because it's a few years old.

There are too many teams at Apple to be "diverted." If they want an iWork in 2010, they'll have one. However, iWork '09 seems to be a hot seller and offers everything we could want for now. Until the next big innovations and feature list, I'm VERY happy with '09.
