Hi, yesterday i installed my j2i and immediately fill it with almost 6TB of Data, what i notice from iStats is that the temperatures range from 43-47º degrees celsius (116º F) during the transfer, don't know if this is too hot for a spinning drive. Also i noticed an increased in the noise coming from the fans of the mac pro (16c), still not noticeable from sitting posture but when you press your hear against it is pretty clear the increase.

I have a similar setup - 16-core + J2i 8TB which purely serves as my Time Machine drive. 40-50C is the regular operating temperature of spinning drives depending on how hard to push it. Which in your case has been operating hard to move 6TB worth of data.

I haven't push the machine to its limits, but wouldn't there be a notification if it's operating above the norm?
