My mom has an old ibook 300mhz and shes still running os9.2 on it,
i have a Jaguar (10.2) licence that i don't use anymore.
Would Jaguar run decent on the ibook (192MB/6GB)?
If i upgrade to Jag, i would also upgrade her computer to 320MB RAM.
I don't think HD space would be a problem, she would only run AppleWorks and some web browsing, she also has a digital camera and iphoto is much better than the program that came with her camera.

It would be alright. I ran 10.1 on a 366 iBook with 64MB RAM - it wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either.

I think the real question is, does she feel like re-learning a couple things? If she's happy how she is, leave it. Leave it.

If she really needs some feature of 10.2, then go for it; but warn her that it will be slower than 9.2. Not god-awful, rainbow-spin-forever slow, but slower than 9.2. And make sure than once she gets using it, she's not booting the "Classic" versions of her programs unless there's no alternative.
