jail break 3gs help

Okay, i'm new to iphones, but i have a jailbroken 3gs and when i open an app such as mytown2. the phone seems to lose connectivity to the tmobile signal. i also seem to have this problem when connecting to a phone call, sometimes my phone will drop a call for up to 2 min.
Another question, it seems as though i can only send pictures to iphone to iphone, how can i fix this?

1.) Sounds like you rely on an unlock, correct?

2.) Do you have the iPad baseband installed?
