jail break or not, that is the question...

So I got my iPhone a little over a week ago, I already know the work around for custom ringtones, pretty simple…but I love the backgrounds you guys have using summerboard, I want to be able to have custom sounds for texts, emails etc… what else can you do if you jail break the phone?

What are some good sites place and tips for doing this?

Should I do it since the SDK is right around the corner? ( I guess I could always restore)

I also don't want to F something up either...

Any advice would be appreciated.

How do I get the applications? Is there a place to download them or something?

Do I need to restore my phone before I jail break it?

Like I said I don't want to mess anything up.

Also from what I read you can't play all your music files if you do this? What are the disadvantages of doing jail break>?

There are no disadvantages to jailbreaking, you can play all your music, and if you have problems a simple restore will fix everyhting

To do it just upgrade to 1.1.3, if you havent already, and google ZiPhone

So when you say that there are no disadvantages to jailbreaking this means that anytime Apple does a software update with the iPhone through iTunes I will receive all those updates as well, correct? I guess that's what I'm wondering. I want to jailbreak my phone when I get it tomorrow so I can get all the awesome apps people have made but not miss out on any of the Apple software updates.
