Hey guys, I've got a question. I recently got an iPhone 3GS 32gb from a friend which was previously jailbroken on 4.0. Now that I've got it, I want to jailbrake and unlock it to 4.2.1. Keep in mind that this isn't new to me, I had an iPhone 2G before which I constantly jailbroke/unlocked.

So, I followed this tutorial here http://iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=13931 and created the custom firmware. When I put the phone into DFU mode and went into iTunes to custom restore it, I was given this message: "The iPhone could not be restored. The device isn't eligible for the requested build."

Could anyone tell me what this means and how I can go about it?

The Giant (Apple) is not allowing you to install 4.2.1., only the current one 4.3 can be installed. It's just one of their dumb attempts to prevent jailbraking/unlocking.

Do u have TU ? Don't u need that TSS server running? Do u have saved SHSH for 4.2.1?
