I finally jailbroke my ipod touch 2g using redsn0w lite! The procedure is kinda hard for non techies but i will be posting a guide soon!

I don't actually have an iPod Touch. But i jailbreak my friend's iPods for them :D Most of them have the 2G, so that's why I've been wanting it. I'm not afraid of using the tethered jailbreak, but I just don't think they'll want me to have to take it away again every time they turn it off ;)

In a way, the tethered version coming out is a BAD thing. The Dev Team said they would only release it if they became stuck with the full jailbreak. So, it's going to be a while, if ever, until we see the full version of redsn0w :(

looking forward to the guide, I've gotten through most of it just can't seem to send a file to the touch

Got it to work without bricking it.

hey ive been trying that tutorial for hours now..

Im running windows vista 64-bit
I get up to where you have to "iRecovery -f iBSS211.dfu" but when i type that into cmd prompt it says "Got USB Got USB No iPhone/iPod found."

i really dont know what else to do.

Yes i installed lilusb...
yes my ipod is in DFU mode..

PLZ help :)

how did you get cydia? I jailbroke it but no cydia

I just followed what the tutorial said basically. After step 4 in this tutorial, I then switched to this tutorial starting at step 7 using the iRecovery/libusb link from it, along with the 2.1.1 link from it.

As for the person on 64-bit Vista, I don't know if it has anything to do with that or not since I'm using 32-bit. All I could really suggest is un-plugging it from the iPod, waiting 10 seconds, then plugging it back in.
