Is there a way, or will there be in the future, to semi-jailbreak your iphone...? I don't want to use cydia and get all that other crap though. All I want is to be able to have ALL the features that apple was supposed to give me anyway.

battery percent
video capture/edit
autofocus
voice control

Let me know if I missed anything.

Do you really want video capture at 15 fps?

I believe the autofocus and voice control are from hardware upgrades.

Who is apple to tell me whether I want a feature or not. (I still do) I realize it'll be lower quality.

ok apparently autofocus is hardware, I'll accept that. But is voice control really hardware?? how can that be when there is so many voice recognition apps?

You will never get the autofocus/macro features for the same reason that you can't upgrade to a 3MP camera. Its more than just software.

The other stuff is hardware dependent for the software Apple wrote. The Voice recognition uses a new DSP chip for example.

In the past, for me at least, the numerical battery has always survived the restore from Jailbreaking, and is present even on my non-JBen phone afterwards.

Just use Cydia.
