jailbreak 3gs 3.1.3 on old bootrom?

Hi, i have iphone 3gs with old bootrom on 3.1.3 which is stuck on emergency screen. I tried jailbreaking on spirit but get error "failed to jailbreak, error code 1" . Can anyone help me out?

If you have the old bootrom, there's no need for Spirit.

Try PwnageTool, and create an IPSW from there.

My iphone is not jailbroken on 3.1.3, can i still use sn0wbreeze since i am a windows user?

I haven't use Snowbreeze before, sorry.

I know that PwnageTool works though, and it really doesn't take that much effort.

It seems like you phone is not yet activated... (I assume emergency means iTunes, slide for emergency)
Which carrier is it locked to?
You should activate you device first with a compatible sim card, and then, jb with spirit and unlock with ultrasn0w.

I did just that, and piece is now unlocked alive and working, thanks

Spirit requires the phone be activated first. You could read the instructions on Spiritjb.com
