Hey guys!

I have been jailbreaking since iOS 5, but have a little question around jailbreaking iOS 8.

Usually, I:
1. Backup iPhone
2. Restore/update my iPhone to factory settings
3. Restore from backup
4. Jailbreak

But shall I have to do this on the new jailbreak?

1 - Backup
2 - Clean restore to 8.1
3 - Ensure passcode/touch ID/find my phone is disabled.
4 - Jailbreak (keep passcode/touch ID/find my phone is disabled).
5 - Restore from backup

Thanks!

There is no point in restoring to factory settings if you then restore from a backup afterwards, FYI.

My process was...

Updated to 8.1 via iTunes.
Disabled touchid/passcode/find my phone, placed phone in ap mode
Jailbreak

I didn't reset it, restore it, etc.
