Can a jail broken iPad push any and all video and music to an apple tv...like abc app because that would make my iPad worth jail breaking and an apple tv even more worth the purchase!

Just as long as the movie or audio is iDevice friendly and not in a custom player like VLC, it should play back fine.

Keep I'm mind that the apple tv does not support certain video formats, such as avi. Jail breaking or otherwise unlocking your iPad probably won't affect the apple tvs ability to play unsupported formats without modifying the apple tv

Interesting so if If it plays on my iPad than it should play on the atv, unless it something tht only the vlc handles. So I would assume ABC app would do just fine as well as YouTube and maybe hulu plus?

It's not just limited to VLC. If the app uses a non-Apple UI media player, Netflix ABC PBS, then it will not stream to the Apple TV.
