Hey there guys, I hate to look like a bit of a noob but I need some serious help jailbreaking my iPhone 2G. Unlocking the phone isn't a top priority but jailbreaking it is. It's currently running iOS 3.1.3 with baseband 04.05.04_G.

Here's why I need help, a while back I jailbroke the device with jailbreakme.com. Never really had issues, but I needed to unlock it and so I didn't find a solid solution other than to rejailbreak it and unlock it using pwnagetool I think or the Windows Version of it. Everything went fine and I even managed to get it to work with my cousin's T-Mobile Sim.

The problem? After a while, for some very odd reason, stock apps would start disappearing. I'm not talking about hiding them with poof, I'm talking about, COMPLETELY gone. I looked at the root files with iPhone Explorer and the stock app folders that disappeared were nowhere to be found. So what in the world could be causing this?

Also know that I don't think that it was a cydia app that caused this because I know for a fact that I once jailbroke it and unlocked it to put it up on sale and let it sit there for a couple of days. No one touched it, when I checked up on it when it told me that the battery was dying down unlocked the phone and all the icons were gone except four...

I could never find anything on google except glitches for using poof, but like I said, I tried every solution for it but none of them worked because I never used poof on it and the Applications were completely erased from the root folder.

I'd really appreciate any help guys, thank you.

Thank you. Everything went fine, except the guide didn't say I needed to load the iPhone 2G 3.1.2 iOS, and it also didn't provide a link, but it wasn't hard to find.

I decided not to restore the phone from the backup in case something in the backup was making the phone act up, so I'm hoping that everything will be fine now.

I wonder if their tutorials aren't all simulations? I swear those people don't even own an iphone.

Here, read a REAL guide: http://www.hackthatphone.com/3x/r_3_1_3_1g.html

I like iClarified MORE than your self-made "REAL" guide site. Your site is OK looking but your post shows haterode towards iClarifed so you could promote yours as the better one and yours is not as complete a site as theirs... There are better ways to promote your site than hating on others...
