I am going to try and be as simple yet specific as possible.
I have an iPhone(4) running 5.0.1
The lock button is BROKEN.
When my phone broke, there was not a jailbreak available so there was no alternate way to lock my screen so my phone would die within hours of normal use. But blackberrys suck balls so I want to switch back to my iPhone. At&t needs to be able to turn the phone off in order to switch my service back to it. So i am trying to jailbreak it so I can use an alternate power off/lock function.

From my understand of the jailbreaks, I need to enter my phone into DFU mode but I cannot because the lock button is broken. Is there another way, on OSX Lion, to do this? Thanks.

all_flash.n82ap.production is for the 3Gs, you want to do the procedure to the all_flash.n90ap.production folder.

You don't really need to turn your phone off. You can simply turn airplane mode on for a while, that works too.
