Jailbreak data and iTunes backups

I've searched all over and I can never find a straight answer. Some say that an iTunes back up does not save any jailbreak data, some say it does.

So, I ask you all for the definitive word: Does an iTunes back up from a jailbroken iPhone save jailbreak data?

As far as I know, you can't.

Jailbreak apps keep their plist files in /User/Library/Preferences/. This folder is contained in the iTunes backup, so those plists are in your backup.

Yes, and I don't believe you've searched very hard because I just went over this a couple of times in the last week. No doubt they are only on to the 2nd or 3rd page..
