jailbreak didn't work??

Hi,

I just used redsnow to jailbreak my iphone 3g o/s 4.2.1 and it appeared to work - said it did anyway. But there appears to be nothing different about it. It doesn't register as a hard drive on my PC. There is no 'cydia' icon anywhere, as it seems there should be. With regard to cydia, I found instructions that told me to install either iphone browser or ifunbox and find the cydia thing that way. But I installed both of those & there was apparently still no cydia.

Can anyone help me please? Also have a couple other issues that I'll put in a different thread because it's not about jailbreaking... TIA!

Make sure you're using the correct version of redsnow and pointing it to the right Ipsw file.
Then redo the whole thing again.

Thanks. I'm using Redsnow 0.9.6rc8 can you tell me if that's the right one? the ipsw file is the 4.2.1 iphone o/s
