Hi all:
I'm thinking about jailbreaking my first generation iPod touch (2.2). I really really really wanted to have the iPhone version of Google Maps (you know, with mass transit directions, street view, etc). So is this available if I jailbreak? What other cool things can I do if I jailbreak?

If this has been asked before, Im so sorry

Thank you...:D

yep theres somethin on cydia called "streetview enabler" which gives you the full maps app as we should of got

Exactly.

Also, read some of the threads in this forum and in the iPhone Hacks forum, including the stickies at the top of each forum. You will be able to find a ton of information about jail-breaking and what can be gained by it.

I always thought we had the same google maps...

nope we got shafted, iPhones users get streetview and a couple extra things (i forget what they are) and we the mere iPod users did not get these extras... they features are there just not enabled which is what the streetview enabler does.

Not just that, they left out mass transit and pedestian directions...two things any city person needs.

Thanks to everyone for your help! I think I just might jailbreak now!

ah right I never knew about them two extras I've not really tried it out properly just messed with the streetview, somethin to try out when I got wifi
