Jailbreak iOS 4

Really?! So just to be sure, am I safe to upgrade now?

SHSHs is on file for 3.1, 3.1.2, 3.1.3
iPhone 3GS 3.1.2

I didn't need to unlock so I dont know about that but I was just saying that my baseband didnt get upgraded.
 
How to get you get the battery percentage thing on the 3G? I read the gumball thing and its jailbroken.. No battery percentage option.. or that "alread pwned" option..

Anyone?
 
ok i have itunes 9.2 is installed and working perfect. I have 4.0 installed on my iphone and working good. i have a 3gs not quiet sure which bootrom i have but now lies the question how do i jailbreak it? i want mivitones and bitesms? plz need help ive been trying to figure it out for hours now:confused::confused:

You can use the new Beta version of pwnage tool to JB. I personally used the method at the website below and haven't had any problems, although it's hit or miss figuring out which apps currently work with iOS4.

Edit: of course there are some prerequisites before using this method. Make sure you do your research before you make a decision to do anything.

So this still won't work if I updated my 3GS to the 4.0GM using it's installer (so it updated to the current baseband too), correct?

You will have to downgrade you firmware to 3.12 (with SHSH on file) and then use either PwnageTool, redsn0w, or blackra1n to jailbreak and you can use the method described previously. The method above preserves the baseband at 5.11.07

So since this phone was brand new 2 weeks ago (with 3.1.3 so no SHSH on file) then the word for me is "Skrewed" right? :)

the very first post has links to download iOS 4.0... Click on the jailbreak link and it takes you to gumballtech website. "DOWNLOAD 4.0" is on the left side.

im sorry i wasnt so clear i believe i have ios4 gm..i have it all instead and working i need to jailbreak it and install 3 things..bitesms..mivitones and 3g unrestrictor and maybe appsync

I updated my 3GS too and kept the 04.26.08 baseband. Have the problem where it won't show the name of the carrier in the top bar. Main problem now though is no cellular data. Can't seem to set it up no matter what i do.

I have the APN setup correctly. Is your cellular data working? I'm on a non official carrier with an officially unlocked phone.

EDIT: This is a royal PITA but a good one... the cellular network works now. I changed it from isp.X to data.X (i tried this before) and restarted and voila... internets!
