Jailbreak Ipod Firmware 2.1!

What you need:
Ipod Firmware 2.1, http://www.felixbruns.de/iPod/firmware/ Itunes 8.0, http://www.filehippo.com/download_itunes/ QuickPwn 2.1, http://www.zshare.net/download/18681744057a2ce6/
WinZip, http://www.download.com/WinZip/3000-2250_4-10003164.html
WinSCP, http://www.download.com/WinSCP/3000-2160_4-10400769.html?tag=mncol&cdlPid=10870159

What you have to do:
1.Open Itunes 8.0( download and install it first ).

2.Restore your ipod to 2.1 firmware which you downloaded from my link.

3.Shift then click Restore

4.Let it restore.

5.Will take upto 10mins.

6.Dont mess with your Ipod while restoring!.

7.After its restores open QuickPwn 2.1 that you can download from the link above.

8.Extract the files using WinZip.

9.Open the QuickPwn folder and start the GUI application.

10.Choose your device.

11.Click on it and browse for the 2.1 firmware that you downloaded from the link above.

12.Will take a minute and then a green tick will come up on the side.

13. It will ask you to install what you want for your device. Choose what you want

14.Click next and it will put your Ipod into recovery mode.

15.Hold home button for 5 seconds then home and power button for 10 seconds and in the end home again for another 30seconds.

16.You will see message saying {jalibreaking your device}.

17.After thats done your device will reboot!

18.Slide to unlock and you will see your freshly 2.1 jailbroken device.

19.Transfer your cracked apps to your Ipod using WinSCP. Formally called SSH.

20.Sync your music and videos using Itunes. Start playing games and using the new Genius feature.

Everything done in 20 steps


Note: I prefer adding applications using Itunes to your Ipod. They work with Itunes 8.0. Its faster better and you dont need WiFi

This has been posted before. With quickpwn being so fool-proof easy I don't see why a guide is even necessary. And if you are on 2.0 doesn't quickpwn already find the .ipsw file automatically?

hmm.. that's weird, it worked great several time for me. But I guess that no program is perfect. The steps are nice and simple. So I'm sure that people will get use out of it.

Do you see it mention 2.1.1? I'd assume no then. I haven't heard anything about jailbreaking 2.1.1. I'm sure they will do it eventually though.

NO. There is no jailbreak available for the iPod touch 2nd Generation yet.

I'm one that can't get 2.1 going for the life of me, and have tried both Quickpwn and the other one floating around here. I KNOW I've done everything correctly, as I have tried both methods from a clean restore, twice.

Only thing I guess I'd have a question about is this: if I already have 2.1 (as I bought the upgrade), do I have to download the torrent for 2.1, or are you just providing that for people who haven't gotten 2.1 (firmware) yet? Is it the same as the "legal" 2.1?
