I have seen it's not possible yet to unlock the iPhone 3G.

But can you still jailbreak the iPhone 3G? I understand the consequences that the warranty will no longer be any good, thank you.

your warranty will be fine .. just restore when you need anywork done on the phone i have jailbroken everyone of my phones and if i needed any work done i just restored

Is ziphone any good because I used it with my first gen iPhone but I can understand a lot has changed and it's also different from the first gen. I just wanna make sure I'm doing this right the first time, haha.

Ziphone doesn't work anymore. You have to use pwnage tool or quickpwn.

Hi Guys, my friend got me a Iphone from hong kong and its locked and I want to use it with the local MTS provider. They Sale them here in russia but how do I get it unlocked or to work with the russian SIM card?

Are you using the first generation iPhone the iPhone 3G?

I know the first gen iPhone can be unlocked with ZiPhone, but the iPhone 3G cannot be unlocked yet from what I've heard.

On another note, I successfully have jailbroken my phone! Soooo much more fun.

No I have a 3G Iphone and need to get it to work here in Russia. its already sold here unlocked now but was trying to figure out how to unlock mine for here. Some one was saying to maybe take the phone to the provider and they might take the ME number and be able to unlock it some how???

Ohh I see, yes call up AT&T and have tell them your traveling internationally (Russia) and they'll be able to unlock it for you.
