Hello,

After reading a number of threads, it is my understanding that everytime you jailbreak and then upgrade and jailbreak again on newer firmware you lose memory on the phone.

Is there a correct way of upgrading firmware w/o losing this memory?
I believe everytime you upgrade to newest firmware you are losing about 500mb's.

Please advise.

Thank you!

That is false. If that was true, then my 18+GB music library and 8GB app library wouldn't fit on my iPhone. The 500MB are jailbreak data that you have downloaded (themes, mods, etc.) and system files.

Anyone else with some input on this?
I've read a number of articles online stating that everytime you jailbreak your phone that portion that it takes memory to jailbreak isnt reread when updating.

Please advise.

Thank you!

They are stating that 500mb jailbreak data is never reread again after you connect it to itunes.. thus in essense you itunes is seeing your memory less 500mb everytime you upgrade.

Any thoughts?

My thought is that Prodo123 gave you a response than you completely seemed to ignore. It seems like you want to hear that what you're reading is correct when, in fact, it's false.
