Jailbreak restore question, internet needed?

I was thinking of jailbreaking my iPhone so I can have the Wifi hotspot for camping. Now if something happens I know I can restore my iPhone, but do I need an internet connection for my Macbook to restore my iPhone?

Yes.
Restores and updates need to be verified by either apples servers to allow the restore or cydias server if using shsh blobs.
You will also need Internet to activate your iPhone using iTunes.
