I don't know of any free apps but
MyWi 4 works pretty damn good!
It is $20 but thats just one month of
tethering from AT&T and with MyWi
you can keep your unlimited plan too!

MyWi works just as easy as AT&T tethering, plus it has security built right in.
yeah Ive heard mywi is the best but I would very very rarely use it, if ever so Id like something thats not gonna cost me $20 for something I may never use. So thats why I was looking for a free one.

I was too late to download that app from the app store. But I'm confirming that it is on installous. (Btw it's not stealing because the original app was free)
But shouldn't an exception be made to the piracy rule since this app is no longer available in the App Store?
It wasn't free. I am feeling like a fool since I downloaded HandyLight in time, however deleted it from my home screen before I synched to iTunes. I am assuming it is gone from me forever, right? If anyone has a tip to recover, it would be much obliged.
