Hi, I have a problem with installing iTunes 8.0.2 on my computer and I'm just wondering if jailbreaking is wise without this latest version of iTunes? My computer has some problem with Windows Installer so I cannot get the latest iTunes.

I'm currently using iTunes 8.0.0 and my iPhone is already running firmware 2.2 and it syncs fine and everything works as of right now. When reading the guides for jailbreaking, the first thing that is always noted is that iTunes should be 8.0.2 and I'm wondering if this is a concrete fact and a MUST? The worst case scenario would be if I jailbroke my iPhone and it could not sync or recognize my iPhone afterwards with the my iTunes 8.0.0. I would be using QuickPwn if that makes any difference.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

No issues whatsoever. I jailbroke and unlocked my (first-gen) iPhone, and I've only got iTunes 7.7.1. (No need to upgrade to 8.x when this version works just fine.)
