Jailbreaking 4.2.1 3GS

Hi All,

I have jail broken before on 4.1 i believe using jailbreakme.com it was ages ago and I dont remember everything I did.

However my iphone has now been replaced and I would like to JB again tonight. I have downloaded 4.2.1 IPSW for 3GS and plan to do a full backup in iTunes that I can restore to if anything goes wrong.

My phone is not network locked and I plan on using greenpois0n

If anything goes wrong I can just restore as new iphone and restore my backup yes?

Also another question to ad to this, my mate swears his friends Internet banking was compromised via Safari browser after he JB'd

Is this at all possible?

If your friend was on an unfamiliar or unsecured WiFi network, then anything is possible.

That is true, however the JB itself should not expose Safari to anymore security issues then on a unjb'd iphone??

Any tips on my first post also?!
 
If for some reason something goes wrong, you can restore your phone, and then restore from your backup to get your phone back to the way it was before. But as the poster above me said, jailbreaking your phone is perfectly safe.
 
You should be jailbreaking with PwnageTool as it incorporates the iBook DRM protection fix that greenpois0n doesn't have.
 
Soo where do I get pwnage tool and link for doco?? Is it the sticky in the top of this forum? Looks like that's for old 2.1 iOS ...
