Hi,
I have an iphone 4 running 4.2.1 and i want to jailbreak. But i am reading about tethered and untethered. And i was just wondering what these mean and what the differences are. Thanks

Tethered means anytime you reboot your phone or kill the battery you have to reapply the jailbreak.
 
I had the same issue this weekend with my 4th gen iPod Touch, but i backed it up and went for it. No regrets! I'v only had to boot it with redsn0w twice (once because an app I installed required a restart and once because an app crashed and shut down my iPod) and it wasn't that painless. I'm only a little worried that if I have it away from home and it shuts down I'm screwed. Good luck. :apple:
 
Is it possible to jailbreak 4.2.1 untethered. And also say it does drain my battery or runs slower and what not, when i restore it will it go back to normal? or would it be permanent?
