hai there. recently bought an iphone 4 a week ago but i could not get a software unlock as my baseband is not supported. I have decided to jailbreak it and run iOS 4.3.3 but I nid to know the correct firmware to download. I am currently downloading iphone3,1_4.3.3_8J2_restore.ipsw. Is this the correct download? And should i worry about my baseband (03.10.01) and iOS 4.2.1?

only baseband that work on I4 is baseband 1.59.00 no other baseband is supported. Also baseband can not be downgraded. your only option as far as unlock goes is the Grevey Sim. as far as jailbreak I would use redsn0w tutorials Click here
iPod4,1_4.3.3_8J2_Restore.ipsw file is a zip
I have found many links to
iPod4,1_4.3.3_8J2_Restore.ipsw
but they all download zip files that do not contain a ipsw file.
What am I missing?

If you DL the file with IE, it changes the extension from ".ipsw" to ".zip". Just change the extension back to ".ipsw".
Firefox does not rename it.

Just rename the iPod4,1_4.3.3_8J2_Restore.zip to iPod4,1_4.3.3_8J2_Restore.ipsw and it will work
