jailbreaking friends iPod Touch on my computer

I have only jailbroke my own iPod Touch one time and that is it. So I am no expert! Now a friend wants me to do hers. Can I do it using my computer? Or would I need to use hers for some reason? Not sure if her own iTunes would need to be involved to update after restoring.

yes just don't synch to yours

I ahve jailbroken over 10 phones on my laptop. no issues

Does it try to sync automatically like when I plug mine in? Is there anything special I should do to ensure that doesn't happen?
