Jailbreaking an Unlocked iPhone 4

Hi there, im new to jailbreaking and have decided that i want to do it. I don't understand about factory and jailbreaking unlocks, all that happened when i unlocked mine was, i rang my phone company, said i was leaving and they offered to unlock my phone for my new network SIM Card. Is it still easy to jailbreak this way? I'm on iOS 5 btw.

Thanks all
