Hey guys, quick question, does it matter if your iPhone is turned on when you jailbreak it? I can't turn mine off as the standby button is broken, but I want to jailbreak via redsn0w for Mac OS X.

Any tips?

Thanks in advance.

You will have to give us more information about your Iphone, which IOS version it currently has. You can use Jailbreakme.com from safari to jailbreak your phone if your phone IOS are compatible for use with this method. This works and you don't need to use the power button at all.

If you use redsn0w, you need to put your phone into DFU mode and without power button, it will not work.

Latest version of iOS. Jailbreakme.com won't work, but I'm slightly annoyed that I cannot turn the phone off via the button, is there a way to turn it off any other way?
