Hi,

I have a friend with a black iphone 4.3.3 jailbroken who wants to exchange it for a white iphone.

The white iphone until recently was running 5.0; however, the exchanger has now downgraded it to 4.3.3

Are there any potential gotchas here, or should my friend be able to load on a recent 4.3.3 backup from the black iphone together with cydia apps and settings?

1st unless you just bought the phoneit's very 99.%y unlikely you can't exchange the color. 2nd if it's a 3GS a I4 you need SHSH blobs are required to downgrade. unless the refurb has 4.3.3 on it already or the previous owner saved blobs you can not down grade.

might try Craigslist see if somebody wants to trade there color as well.

Labman thanks -- the exchange is already good to go (it's private).

The iPhones in question are both iPhone 4: but the question is can an iPhone 4 with 5.0 firmware be successfully downgraded to 4.3.3, and then a 4.3.3 backup restored to the iPhone?

Unless you have SHSH blobs save for 4.3.3, you can't downgrade firmware on Iphone 4.

If dat white iphone which was previously running ios 5 is now running on ios 4.3.3 then it has allready been downgraded through shsh blobs...as dats the only way to downgrade...moreover if its running ios 4.3.3 then there's no question of it not getting jailbroken...

Dats what i think...do correct me if m wrong...

I really do not understand the reason for going back to 4.3.3. The iOS5 and the tethered jb works fine.
