jailbreaking the phone

If if do a jailbreak on my iphone 5.1. How does it affect my iphone such as am I able to upgrade my phone in the future and am I still able to install application on my device normally ?

PS: Im sorry if my question is not in the right place to ask...
 
You are able to upgrade, you are able to run applications, and your device will run normally :)
