Exactly the same. Just if you use Redsn0w/Pwnage Tool/sn0wbreeze you need to load in the correct ipsw.

Thank you for your response, I am actually holding off on jailbreaking until I get an ipod touch 5G at which point I hope redsn0w will still be compatible with it.

one thing you got to note though, for iPhone you might want to keep your baseband so it'll be easier to unlock.
