Here's the scenario: I jailbroke my 3G with 2.2.1 about three weeks ago for Tricker 3G so I could run Sling over 3G. That is the only thing I installed and I didn't do anything else.
My last backup is from just prior to the JB. I have obviously done things in the interim on my JB phone and would like to keep those settings, game progress, etc. But I haven't backed up my phone for fear of bringing over some 'screwy' settings when I go to a stock 3.0 phone.
Can I do a backup of my jailbroken phone, then restore to 2.2.1, upgrade to 3.0 and then restore the settings without getting some crazy settings back?
My other option is of course to not backup, restore to non-JB, restore settings and then upgrade to 3.0. I will lose any settings within the past three weeks - not a biggie, but I'd like to avoid if possible.
