Jailbroken 3.0.1 with BenM.at upgrading iOS 4

I have a jailbroken 3GS, 3.0.1, 4.28.08, iBoot-359.3. I'm using BenM.at to enable tethering.

Questions: What are my options as far as upgrades and jailbreaking? If I can and go to iOS 4 can I still tether via BenM? Will I need to do a complete restore to upgrade to 4?
