Pardon my ignorance, but I've read a few threads that the 3GS on FW 4.1 (8B117) and baseband 05.14.02 can't be jailbroken, is that correct, or have I missed something?

That's what I was thinking, the last thread I read had some users giving a guy a hard time about the same question, saying it was impossible etc, I did it last night and no issues whatsoever.. Thanks for the clarification.

You can jailbreak it fine using greenpois0n, limera1n, or PwnageTool (Mac Only).

You cannot however, unlock it.

Hiya, I've got a 3GS that I bought in July of this year. Upgraded to 4.1 a couple days ago (have jailbroken using JBMe before). However, if I try to JB using Lime or GP, I seem to lose all data abilities and can't choose "carrier" in the settings.

Probably I've upgraded the baseband or something, but I have no idea what that means.

Any help? Or shall I have to wait some weeks until some new break comes out?

J

Are all versions of 4.1 on an iPhone 4 able to be Jail Broken, I have 4.1 and I am on the latest baseband2.10.04, or is there a version of 4.1 that cannot be JB'n, also I am not sure at which point you can not unlock.

If an iP4 has 4.02 can it be unlocked?
