Hey guys,

I just recently bought an UNLOCKED iPhone 3GS online and everything works. I have an iPhone4 as well which I use regularly(still on 4.2.1) and I sync it to my computer everyday and it doesn't auto-update.

I'm wondering if I connect my iPhone 3GS to my computer, since I haven't synced it yet nor have I connected it to my computer yet, would it automatically update or is there some things I should be aware of before connecting my iPhone 3GS to my computer?

It took me a LONG LONG time to find an unlocked iPhone 3GS at the right price, so it'd suck if I connect it to itunes and it auto-updates and have the 3GS locked again :(

Thanks all!

If you connect it to your computer iTunes will ask you to update it. Just click on the "Don't ask me again" box and click cancel. That way it won't update and you'll retain your unlock while still being able to sync it with your computer.
